English for Professional Development (Business) is an introductory-level course designed to help students strengthen their English skills in professional contexts both orally and in writing. Through three core modules, students will practice function collaboratively in international working environments: workplace communication (e.g. emails, meetings and negotiations), business planning, and presentation skills. The course is taught at a B2 level according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

CHINESE PRONUNCIATION. Students will learn Chinese phonetics (pinyin and basic words and sentences).

Opintojakson suoritettuaan opiskelija osaa käyttää työelämän keskeisimmissä viestintätilanteissa tarvittavia rakenteita ja sanastoa pääasiassa kirjallisesti. Valinnaisesti eri aiheita: yrityksen esittely, tuotteen esittely, muistio, rekrytointi, hissipuhe, yrittäjyys.

Pronunciation will be further practised, and fluency of speaking will also be worked on. Students will widen their vocabulary and knowledge of Chinese grammar so as to be able to discuss one’s likes and dislikes, buy and sell things, and talk about one’s friends and family.
