Meaningful work is increasingly important to people and especially pursued amongst younger generations. Experiencing one’s work as meaningful results in many positive consequences, such as work satisfaction and eudaimonic wellbeing. At its’ best, it helps people to discover agency in the world characterized by several crises such as climate breakdown, conflict, inequality, and the political divide. Purpose-led organizations focus on driving purposeful change whilst providing their employees with meaningful work and regenerating the operational environment. The course considers the topics of meaningful work and purpose-led organizations by introducing an action-oriented pedagogical approach to studying, including lectures, case examples, and co-operative learning methods. Via co-operative learning methods students will form research questions of the course topics and explore them by different methods and informed by theoretical inputs. Co-operative learning methods will also include meaningful action as experiments during the course. The course supports student integration as well as working life skills by learning methods that apply participatory action and allowing reflection on students’ future roles as agents in work life through the concept of meaningful work. The course focuses on the role of arts-based methods in innovation and organizational development. The arts-based methods mean applying art and its methods to increase people's knowledge and skills by opening experiential knowledge, intuition, and tacit knowledge that can be applied in organizational development. The aim of the course is to introduce arts-based methods and how arts-based methods facilitate, for example, building up dialogue between different people, lowering barriers to make-sense on complicated issues, and share experiences as well as imagine possibilities and future scenarios. Theoretically, the course draws on collective creativity, sense-making, and reflection. In practical level, the course introduces the use of arts-based methods in a variety of industries with visiting lectures and experts.

Yritysyhteistyö Kandityön voi tehdä yrityksen toimeksiannosta, jos yritysaiheita on tarjolla tai opiskelijalla on valmis kontakti, mutta työn toteutuksessa tulee huomioida yleiset kanditöitä koskevat säännöt ja ohjeet. Tekoälysovellusten käyttö Tekoälytyökaluja voi käyttää omatoimisesti esimerkiksi ideoinnissa ja tekstin viimeistelyssä, mutta opiskelija on aina itse vastuussa lopputuloksen laadusta.

Diplomityö on diplomi-insinöörin tutkinnon opinnäyte. Yleensä työ on yrityksen toimeksiannosta tehty kehittämishanke, jonka kesto on noin 6 kuukautta. Työ sisältää vastuullisen työskentelyn tuotantotalouden alaan liittyvässä yrityksen kehittämishankkeessa, hankkeen raportoinnin diplomityön muodossa ja oman työn esittelyn 1. tarkastajan määräämällä tavalla. Ennen työn palautusta sen alkuperäisyys on tarkastettava kurssin moodle-sivuilla Turnitin-ohjelmalla. Tuotantotalouden koulutusohjelma järjestää syys- ja kevätlukukaudella diplomityöhön liittyvät keskustelutilaisuudet suomeksi ja englanniksi. The course aims to provide guidelines to students on how to conduct research in management and how to report research results. The course is a combination of online and traditional teaching. Course consists of lectures, practical seminars (online or offline) and students’ presentations and group work. Topics include but not limited to research questions formulation, literature review, choice of research methods, research design, collecting and analyzing quantitative and qualitative data. Research report and presentations are an essential part of course evaluation. Research reports are done in groups. Significant load of independent work is planned in this course.
