A220A0550 Advanced Decision-making - Verkko-opetus 1.6.2026-31.8.2026
Core content: This course covers the main topics of multiple criteria decision making under certainty, uncertainty and risk. The topics discussed during the course therefore include: principles of decision making under certainty, uncertainty, risk and ignorance, multiple criteria decision-making (MCDM) and evaluation methods (TOPSIS, AHP), the use evaluations of absolute and relative type, efficiency assessment models (DEA), game theory (non-cooperative games of two players, cooperative games of two players with/without transferable gains, games against nature), validation of decision support systems and models and sensitivity analysis. MATLAB and Excel are used to build the models and solve assignments, to showcase the practical application of the presented methods. Additional content: fuzzy logic in decision-making is also covered, along with topics such as decision-support systems (DSS), expert systems and optimization. Special content: The course also introduces students to the basics of multiple expert decision-making and reaching consensus.

Strategisen myynnin pro gradu -seminaari on lukuvuoden mittainen, rakenteellinen prosessi, joka tukee pro gradu -tutkielman laatimista.
Seminaarityöskentely ajoittuu koko lukuvuodelle (periodit 1–4). Seminaari sisältää säännöllisiä tapaamisia (noin kerran kuukaudessa) sekä johdantoluennot syys- ja kevätlukukauden alussa.
Seminaari tukee tutkielmaprosessin etenemistä seuraavien vaiheiden kautta:
· tutkielma-aiheen tarkentaminen sekä tutkimusongelman määrittely ja rajaus
kirjallisuuskatsaus ja teoreettisen viitekehyksen rakentaminen
tutkimusasetelman suunnittelu ja aineiston keruu
aineiston analyysi ja tulkinta
tutkielman kirjoittaminen ja viimeistely
Opiskelijat esittelevät omaa tutkielmatyötään seminaarissa ja saavat palautetta muilta opiskelijoilta ja ohjaajilta. Opiskelijat toimivat myös opponentteina toisten opiskelijoiden töille.
Opiskelijan tulee osallistua niihin seminaaritilaisuuksiin, joissa hän esittelee omaa työtään sekä niihin, joissa hän toimii sovitusti opponenttina toisen opiskelijan työlle. Muuhun seminaarityöskentelyyn osallistuminen on vapaaehtoista, mutta suositeltavaa, sillä seminaari tarjoaa mahdollisuuksia kehittää tieteellisen työskentelyn ja esittämisen taitoja.

This course develops communication, argumentation, and negotiation skills for finance professionals. Students learn to communicate financial reasoning clearly, respond to disagreement constructively, and adapt their message to different professional audiences.
The course combines selected material on professional interaction, social awkwardness in workplace communication, principles of debate, and negotiation techniques. The core of the course consists of in-class role-playing sessions based on realistic situations that financial professionals may face, such as defending analysis, challenging assumptions, handling difficult stakeholders, and negotiating priorities.
Students prepare for selected role-playing tasks throughout the course, including structured practice with AI tools. Each role-playing task is completed twice, allowing students to apply feedback, improve their argumentation, and develop confidence in professional communication.

This course provides an introduction to personal selling and modern sales management within the international business-to-business (B2B) environment. By the end of the course, students will have honed their personal selling skills, gained an understanding of sales management dynamics in a B2B context, and applied sales strategies in a competitive simulation. The course is structured into two main parts: the first focuses on personal selling and sales professionalism, culminating in sales negotiation role-plays. The second part focuses on modern sales management and features a computer-based simulation game. The skills and knowledge acquired in this course are directly applicable to careers in sales, marketing, and business management, as well as to many other work contexts.
Use of AI: Students may use AI tools to support them in planning the role-play assignment. However, all role-play performances and submitted work must reflect the student’s own understanding and capabilities.
