Current topics of relevance to the hospitality field: - business correspondence (using formal language, dealing with complaints, responding to customers’ reviews, writing memos for the staff, etc.) - managing your staff (communication with your employees) - events organization (event management, stages of event planning, communication with vendors) - booking policies (reservation terms and cancellation policy; responding to cancellation requests; explaining the terms of package holidays) - business meetings and negotiations (negotiating with vendors; professional meetings with your staff) In addition to the above, a student is expected to participate in the group project.

Opiskelija perehtyy yrityksen ulkoisen laskentatoimen vaatimuksiin kirjanpidollisen tilinpäätöksen ja arvonlisäverotuksen osalta.

Opintojaksolla käsiteltäviä aiheita ovat logistiikan ja toimitusketjun hallinnan perusteet. Opintojaksolla tutustutaan logistiikan merkitykseen osana liiketoimintaa ja koko toimitusketjun hallinnan elementtejä. Huom! Kurssi on sisällöltään sama kuin aikaisempi Toimitusverkostot-nimellä ollut eli tätä ei hyväksytä, jos olet Toimitusverkostot kurssin jo aiemmin suorittanut.

About 50% of the course is focused on academic practices, especially academic writing, and about 50% is focused on workplace communication practices and skills. -General principles of academic writing, including style, text structure, and referencing mechanics. -Generic and context-specific guidelines for academic and professional writing. -Various written and oral communication situations in professional studies and working life. -Key terminology and concepts in the student's field of study.

After the course the student is able to - create an HTML site that uses CSS and effectively edit an existing site - identify needs for static and dynamic content - use the built-in tools of the web browser to study the structure of the dynamic content and the view of the browser - describe the principle of server / client architecture
