The following topics will be discussed during the lectures: - Research objectives and questions - Research design - Research methodology - Data collection - Analysis - Writing

The student learns to think like a strategist, to understand, utilize and develop the company's strategic resources, business environment, understand future change factors to improve company's competitiveness factors. The selected approach is non-traditional but effective and future-oriented. The main themes of the course are: - strategy analysis & strategic analysis - strategic futures - strategic decision-making - strategic performance and change management Throughout the course, diverse information sources will be utilized, artificial intelligence is tested in strategic context. The main objective is to encourage, improve and strengthen the students' ability to work in strategic tasks.

Lean and processes course will introduce you to the basics of Lean Thinking. You’ll get familiar with the main concepts and principles of Lean philosophy. Students will learn the basics of process thinking and recognize the importance of Lean methods and tools in relation to process operations. On the course students will get the basic knowledge of the principles of the process optimization and connect them to business and environmental thinking. After the course students are able to recognize the obstacles of smooth process flow and identify waste and how to increase labor productivity by reducing waste. As a student you will get concrete practice by utilizing Lean methodologies and problem-solving tools as a part of process improvement. Additionally students get an overview of Lean applications in different business areas.

The student is able to - find sources of finance for a company - manage working capital and company´s capital structure - hedge against financial risks - draw up financial forecasts - apply investment appraisal methods when making decisions

Managing innovatons as a profession, basics of personnel management, managerial communication, decision-making and labor legislation, as well as management tools. Innovation theories ans strategic management. Material and learning tasks related to the topic. The adjacent sessions of the course combine lectures and exercises

Opinnäytetyö koostuu kirjallisesta osiosta ja julkisen taideteoksen suunnitelmasta. Prosessi pitää sisällään näyttelyn jossa esitetään opiskelijoiden julkisen taideteoksen suunnitelmat, sekä kritiikin. Opinnäytetyön suunnittelu -kurssilla tutustutaan opinnäytetyö prosessiin ja sen vaatimuksiin. Kurssin aikana aloitetaan pohtimaan omaa aihetta ja suunnitellun taideteoksen muotoa. Päätöksiä opinnäytetyön teemasta ja sisällöstä tehdään vasta aivan kurssin lopuksi.

Contents: About 3 ECTS is focused on academic practices, especially academic writing, and about 2 ECTS is focused on other professional communication practices and skills, both written and spoken. • general principles of academic writing, including style, text structure, and referencing mechanics • generic and context-specific guidelines for academic and professional writing • various written and oral communication situations in professional studies and the working life • key terminology and concepts in the students' field of study.
