The course focuses on the valuation of income securities and common stocks and providing understanding about risks analysis and market hypothesis. The course also provides introduction to corporate finance and capital budgeting. Core content: Corporate financial decisions, capital structure, interplay between investments and financing decisions.

Background and basics of digital transformation. Digitalization as part of a company’s strategy. Adoption of digitalization in the organization. Measuring and evaluating the effects of digitalization.

The lectures cover a range of topics concerning business marketing, including organizational buying behavior; market research; segmentation, targeting and positioning; strategic planning of marketing; market entry tactics and pricing; product strategy and product development; digitalization and services for business markets; managing business marketing channels; business to business marketing communications; future of business marketing. The course integrates theory and practice to foster active involvement and self-reflection and aid students in preparing for professional practice.

The course focuses on the preparation and analysis of financial statements, and on the form of financial statements. The course will also cover the basics of financial reports and transactions. During the course will provide students understanding about accounting terms, and how financial statements are constructed. It will also give them ability to read financial statements. Core content: Accrual accounting, revenue, inventory, intangible assets, finance investments, liabilities and stockholders' equity.

The course familiarize students with the concepts of entrepreneurship and small business. The aim of the course is to enhance of students' understanding in the importance of entrepreneurship and small business for economies.

Challenges and skills of innovation management, distinguishing innovation types, innovation processes, collaboration between different stakeholders, and supporting creativity in innovation.

The course focuses on the role of performance management and measurement in digitalizing business environment. The course provides students basic understanding about the different performance measurement systems. Core content: Performance management practices, performance measurement, performance measurement systems, performance analysis.

Core content: practical study-related information, learning skills, time management, library databases and information search, introduction to IEM research topics, personal curriculum, and study and career plan.

This course gives holistic picture about LUT´s innovation policy, and practical information how to join and be part of our strong innovation and entrepreneurial field of operations. Course is led and strongly recommended by our vice rector for research and innovation Jari Hämäläinen who will also start the lecture session with his keynote speech. Other lecturers come from LUT Green Campus Open which is the commercialization unit of LUT. The course will handle the LUT innovation process from idea to research project or business establishment. Questions like how to disclose the invention, what are the basics of the law of inventions in Finnish universities, what is LUT´s IPR policy and what kind of funding there is for developing the research idea further are discussed during the course. Also, the principals how to present your idea to different audiences (e.g., for Business Finland R2B funding) will be handled during the course. Course contents: Innovation strategy and process of LUT University, invention disclosure system in LUT, patent search and Freedom to Operate -analyses, principals of patenting in LUT, different project and innovation funding instruments (Business Finland, ELY, EU, Academy of Finland), Research to Business (R2B) funding, requirements and internal application process for R2B, basics of pitching your innovation idea.

Objective of the course is to give students modern insight to working capital management of value chains. Practical examples of three different industries are used. The course contents basics and role of working capital management (WCM) as a part of supply chain finance. Working capital components, financial value chain analysis method, flexible asset management, WCM connection to profitability and WCM models/strategies are presented. Figures of automotive value chain is compared to other industries and data of individual companies are used for demonstrations of the models. Future of collaborative WCM and effect of digitalization are outlined.
